First DE Event

Guys

I am attending my first DE in less than three weeks, and I wanted to just ask if there is any advice I can get prior to going. I am going through the Maverick PCA region to a track outside of Ft Worth. I am sure that there are other threads addressing this to some extent, but I wanted to start fresh. I have had some quasi-track experience in the past, but this will be a lot more than that was. See my tag line for what I am driving - it is bone stock with the exception of Motyl in the brake lines - I just had them flushed. Tires are good and pads are good per the inspection.

As always, thanks for any and all feedback.

What some video's of the track you are driving on

Go to the DE with a clear mind and leave the ego at home...you'll have way more fun this way

Your car as it is stock will be faster than you will be for a long time. So go enjoy the car as it is and learn the driving techniques.

I'm hapy you are going to a DE. It will be the best thing you have done with your car.

What Mike said. Also, listen to your instructor! He/she is an instructor for a reason and most likely he /she has run around that track before.

And in the end, HAVE SAFE FUN!!!

get proper alignment done - search forum for advices. other than that - bring a lawn chair with you in the car, a towel, half gallon of water to drink, some snacks, spare set of clothes (and shoes/socks if it`s going to rain). don`t forget tire gauge to check pressures, if you are on street tires - lower pressures a bit before first session and keep them below 40psi hot, front tires should be kept 2-3 psi lower than rears.

other than that - have fun and listen to your instructor. no need to be stressed about all that.

You are going to have fun and meet some great people. I just finished my 4th DE event this year and I learn things from every instructor I have had. If you drive the proper line they show you and try to stay balanced and smooth adding more speed will naturally come. It has for me.

You are going to have a great time!

Just be aware of how neutral the GT3 is. Without stability control, that car will spin very easily.

got nothing to do with how gt3 car drives. or with how cup or rsr car drives.

I like the show but Clarkson is a ****** as far as a driver. I get tired of all the smokey oversteer drifting . . .

OP: I suggest taping up your lights and possibly mirrors and bumper as well.

Also per Paul (Utkinpol)'s recommendation in a past thread I recently picked up some vinyl magnetic numbers on Ebay very cheap that look pretty good and work well.
