Back From The Trip--- Kewl!
Back From The Trip--- Kewl!
Got back from my 1,878 mile trip up the Pacific coast highway in a stock 2006 C2s-- no hits, no runs, no errors! Some observations, though:
1) sea level altitude density and moist ocean air really wake up the engine when you are used to it's power output at a higher elevation.
2) overall, got between 22 and 28 mpg on all legs of the trip.
3) the coast would have much better looking without all that darn fog!!!
4) burned 1 'tic' on the oil check guage oil-- first time I have ever burned any oil on a trip (19,000 miles on the car).
5) I'm getting too darned old to be putting in an 848 miles in 14 hours driving day!
6) The headlights on the car are extraordinary-- driving through pines and elk country at midnight realy makes you nervous, but boy even though I am an old off roader with significant experience with high power halogen driving lights-- the car's lighting is really superb and cuts through the darkest night.
7) Had fun chasing a CLS500 at 90-95 mph around Edwards Air Force base (boy-- think of the history that was made there!)
In summary-- the car performed flawlessly even though the P0's were awfully noisy on some of Cali's bad roads. Lots of fun!
