This happened w/me with my 2008 C4S that I bought June, 2010 from a dealer. Someone hit me parked in a garage lightly - but enough to replace the quarter-panel. By body guy when replacing it said my hood had been repainted given the texture of the clearcote - it haunted me for a few weeks but then I just let it go...I feel your pain though -

I already have a lot of chips on my GTS with 5k miles...your paint might be better than the OEM.

But I am absolutely going to run it past a body shop and have them take a look. I've not seen any obvious signs of damage, nor did Auto Gallery for what ever that is worth. Does anyone know of a reliable body shop in West San Fernando Valley? Once again thanks.

Precision Auto Body in Reseda. They replaced a front left fender. I can not see the difference between the right and left fenders.

Sorry to butt in but a repaint is insignificant if it is done properly, and yours apparently was okay. Any classic that is worth decent bucks has been repainted, and it isn't cheap. I've got over 4k @ in a 69 Mustang and 72 Vette and 5k in a 78 TransAm, and of course none of these were 10-15 coat jobs.

Unfortunately, if paid out of pocket, you'll never know what was done to the car.

With that said, always a good idea to do an independent PDI. We do this for clients all the time and save them from making costly mistakes. At this point, if it really bothers you, take to a vette specialist, or one that knows fiberglass and carbon fiber, and see what it would cost to do a through PDI and what it would cost to repair the re-paint properly.

I know it's a bit of a drive, but this is the company we use exclusively and they specialize in Corvette:

Boy, is that true. Someone keyed my wife's NSX and it cost $15k to have it repainted properly.
