What a great day! I only ran on Saturday where we had beautiful weather. Windy at some points but overall great! On Friday it was raining so i was glad that i didn't register for... lol

This was my very first DE, not with the Porsche but ever! My track experience is limited to 4 years of drag racing with a Lancer Evolution, 10 secs at 134-135 mph on pumpgas before i sold it and only four autocross events with my 997.

I did al four sessions, two in the morning and two in the afternoon. On my last one i was a bit sloppy, i guess from fatigue so i just tried to put miles behind the wheel and did really push the car.

My instructor, Rich, a great guy with many years of experience was very helpful and was giving me great tips on my driving, driving lines, shifting, etc etc...

I got to shoot my second and third session with my GoPro. The first was with the camera attached on the Rennline tow hook mount and the second one i moved it in the back!

I wasn't timing myself of course but while watching the videos i figure that i was running in the 1.31 range when i had no traffic.

Its hard knowing that we need to take a break for a couple of months.

 

I'm aiming for Schatt PCA DE in early Nov @ NJMP, then thats the season.

 

Although my DE season is over i will still attend all the remaining autocross events with PCA Metro. It is a good practice to balance braking and turning...

Next season i will definitely attend more DEs

i was there as well, you have a shot of my white 997s in your attached pics, #184. that was my first track day ever and i was there both days. best thing that happned for me was the rain on the first day, it forced me to slow down and actually helped correct mistakes. i am really pleased with the progress i made in two days and feel i owe a lot of it to the rain on day one but most to my awesome instructor joe who was driving the blue #81 cup car that you have pictured as well. my only dissapointment is that we didnt get to see me pass you in the video clips...that would have been cool, for me at least. just kidding...
