Here are a few pics for now... longer writeup coming soon. As you can see, I wanted things to look completely stock with the plastic in place. I'm very happy with it - especially the locations of the amp and the crossovers in the trunk. It was a lot of work for someone who hadn't done much taking apart of car interiors, but it was all doable, and I didn't break anything! I could even go back to stock if I wanted to... but I never will.

My rationale is the underside basically has 2 skins or layers the Metal shell and all the plastic there IMO mostly for aerodynamic reasons.

The plastic did nothing to dampen the sound and IMO probably added to the resonance.

Dampen the plastic reduced the noise I am happy with the results with very little weight added, maybe 5lbs.

Oh nice, thanks for putting up pictures. Can't wait to see the full writeup. I know there are a lot of people here who'd be interested.

Is that sub the one from Car Audio Innovations? How's the bass?

Tire roar does not enhance my enjoyment of the car. I love the sound of my car with slight intake and exhaust mods. I won't add dynamat because the car is too heavy as it is.

Changing from PS2s to the RE50s helped.

My r comps (R888s) practically scream in comparison but they are obviously not what I use for street driving.

As long as it didn't involve too much weight or complexity I think active noise cancellation is a good idea.

Dndodd, your mod is specifically what i was searching for...i also want to reduce road and tire noise by adding sound deadening materials in the right places. Of course with a weight penalty but if we put it in the right places thwi should not be too much. Tire and road noise reduction but enhancing engine and exhaust noises. Can youj post pics?

Sorry I was really negligent in not taking pics. Don't expect a Lexus quiet just took the edge off for me.

Did the Dynamat do much for the thunderous sound the rear makes when going over the concrete sections and expansion joints?

It should help mute any road noise but I don't drive on those types of roads very often.

Hi all

Talking about noise cancelling, I bought a headset for this. And it works amazing (I bought a high end one).

Install tweeters in your head rest and a midrange/ bass speaker in the seat back with separate volume settings and you are all set... the midrange / bass will transmit sound through the Porsche seat. The tweeters will add the Bose type sound component ( no highs, no lows, must be BOSE ) to the mix and you will have a great sounding system that will easily tune out much of the engine / exhaust roar.

Bose Quiet Comfort 15.

To help you understand how efficient this kind of product is (mainly low frequency noises so there is no harm in driving safety), the difference is night and day. Like driving with driver side window lowered or up.
