Satin gold wheels?

I really like the HRE P40S wheels. I saw this photo of a black 458 with satin gold P40S. Would they look good on my black 997? I am thinking they would. Before seeing these I was set on Charcoal P40S now I'm having second thoughts. What say you 6speeders?

This is a Love It or Hate It question. On a black 997, I'd tend to be in the Love It category, as long as there isn't any silver/chrome in any noticeable quantity on the car.

But I also think the charcoal wheels on black would look very sharp, just not as distinctive. The gold definitely brings a 'racing' look to it.

it wouldn't look bad. but u'll have to like gold to love it. imo the car also has to ''set up'' right in order to make it look great. i.e lowered.

The design of the wheels does look nice; I can see why you like them. I would never have thought of "gold" wheels, but the satin sheen does give a muted and solid look to the wheels. If you notice, the red calipers and red tail lights help pull the combination together. Also the previous poster has a point about "set up"... A regular 997 may be too tall, but lowering it just right might help pull off the look. What size wheels are you thinking of?

A classic look IMO. I like the charcoal color better, since the wheels and car are otherwise contemporary. What interior color do you have?

Thinking of this look myself

I was thinking of this same look myself with HRE's. (slate grey 997S - with the red calipers). Let me know if you go for it.

I think it would look good and different, those wheel details also pop with that color!

Thought I'd hate it, but pretty distinctive and sharp. I guess not a surprise, as I've seen similar on dark blue metallic BMWs and it looked good as well...do it.

Go for it. Looks better than all-black wheels in my opinion, especially on a black car.

Thanks for the replies! I agree that to complete the look my car would need a drop. I will stay with the 19" size. My interior is stone gray. I will take a look at the brush tinted wheels.

I had this color wheels on a dark metallic red corvette in the past. It looked sharp without the "bling" factor involved. If they float your boat, then do it.
