Trickle charger

I have a BMW brand trickle charger that I used on my M Coupe during winter storage and was hoping to hear if anyone has any objections towards its function on my 911? Will this thing keep my battery afloat during the icy doldrums of winter?

It should maintain the battery just fine. It is very similar to a battery tender that I have used for years on my Lotus.

I used a $22 Battery Tender from amazon. Works great and has a nice connector to the battery. Took less than 10 minutes to install.

Just be sure and plug it into the cigarette lighter. That is of course if the trickle charger has the adapter.

what's the effect on the interior with the cabin exposed a bit? e.g. especially the seat leather?

For a trickle charger you have to trail the power cord out to the wall right? Do you just crack the window a bit?

I just run it through the bottom of the door and close the door, it all works.

It has the cigarette lighter adapter so I should be good. I tend to close the door with the cord out the bottom as well and haven't had issues of marring in my other vehicles.

I was wondering what I should do with the power cord when I plug in my car for the winter months. Not ready to do it yet, probably wait another couple weeks but I will plug in the cig adapter and then run the cord out the door.

I was thinking I should leave the window cracked a bit; however I will run out the bottom of the door and close (gently) and see how it goes. Seems like it will be fine, as confirmed by your post.
