Some new information that I never considered
Some new information that I never considered
I've been to the dealership taking my cars in for service and it's great to have the smallest detail brought to my attention . These two items were raised :
1) The plastic mud flap - even though my cars are meticulously kept and detailed professionally .. it is inevitable that on a white car the plastic flap will slightly yellow . It can be easily replaced .
2) While test driving the updated drop links on my turbo with my trusted and valued technician he brought my attention to a slight creaking noise in the sunroof going over a speed bump at slow speed. I had always assumed that this was a result of a stiffer suspension and was to be expected .He said he can fix it for me .
I don't usually think of these small details ... and its part of the reason I like going to the shop .
PS .. If you have a small car detail that may be helpful and good to know .. please share it.

Thought that was a good tip, since I do go a week to 10 days w/o driving the car every now and then. I didn't always lock it before, since it's always garaged. No more.. now I lock it every time I get out of it (probably a good habit anyway).
+1. Got the same hint from my dealer, which was very helpful. They have even pointed me to other shops to have certain types of work done.

My guys told me that if I'm not going to drive the car for a few days to a couple weeks, to always lock it, even though I keep it garaged. Apparently locking the car turns off all the 'sensors', that - even though they're minute - use electrical power to keep whatever it is they do going. Locking the car keeps the battery charged longer.

"If the ignition key is removed, loads which are switched on or are in standby mode (such as the luggage compartment light, interior light and radio) are automatically switched off after approx. 2 hours."
If you lock the car with the remote, the switched on lights (e.g., the engine compartment light if you leave it open) go out in about 20 minutes.
I was walking away from my car after service and the tech hit the lock button and the horn beeped. I asked him if he changed it with PIWIS and he said no. If the horn beeps there is something open. Sure enough the glove box was open.
