iPod not working with PCM
iPod not working with PCM
Hi and thanks for the help.
I always was able to use my iPhone or iPod with my 977.2 but suddenly now it doesn't work anymore. When I connect the iPhone or iPod a message shows up with: "iPod is ready" but when I go to source to select the iPod I don't find the option. I only see AM, FM, DISC.
I read on some other threads that it might be ticked off from the Disc->options->Set disc/aux etc. But I couldn't even find the Set Disc Aux in the options under the Disc menu (and yes I had a cd inside).
What could have happened suddenly?
Btw the PCM is v1.4 and the iPod is iOS 4 and the iPhone is iOS 5 and both do not work anymore.
Thanks for any input.

Hey I had the same problem with my 2009 911S. I had the paddle shift wheel installed and somehow the PCM lost the nav, Bluetooth, and iPod. The dealer had to reset the system. You'll have to see your dealer for a reset. It's an easy fix,
There is a s/w update out that is something like 1.47 but in any event it is two versions LATER than 1.4. I don't know if it addresses a disappearing device but I was told that some of what it addresses is related to USB and ipod. I have had a lot of probs with both these devices so you may want to have the dealer check it out.
Thank you all for your input.
I went to the Dealer today but was in a rush. They first checked if it was a cable issue (which I insisted it wasn't because the screen shows iPod is ready when I connect the iPod). Anyways the conclusion was is that they need to reset the PCM software. They also mentioned that there is an update but they don't have it yet. I did not manage to fix it today because I would have to leave the car with them for couple of hours and I didn't have the time to do so. But I will do it after Christmas. I guess if they reset the software or may be reinstall it (i don't know if this is the right way to say it) it should work.
But something that caught my attention was that when they connected the car to their computer they weren't able to find anything related to the AUX and they also couldn't change anything inside the PCM. They were trying to but it doesn't allow them. I guess that's why they said they would need to reinstall (or reset) the PCM software.
The whole issue started one month ago when I asked them to deactivate the Sim Access Profile so I would be able to connect my iPhone to the bluetooth to make calls. After it the iPod stopped working and I still can't pair my iPhone with the Bluetooth confused:
Replacement PCM??? that would be serious right? I don't think it is that bad. Unless I understood you wrong!
