TPC & headlight questions

Couple of quick questions….. I recently purchased a 2006 S and it seems to have every option imaginable. What it doesn’t seem to have, and I didn’t know if this was an option, is the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPC). Was this an option, or can I just not find it with the display? I've scrolled up and down the menu, and I don't see any reference of it.

Secondly, do the headlights always have to be on when the car is driven in daytime, or is there an override that I’m missing. I thought that there might be a law for cars in Southern California 5-6 years ago for mandatory headlights on new cars at that time.

Thanks in advance.

You can turn the headlights / DRL off through the PCM. Doing this from memory, but I think you hit "set" while it is on the "main" menu and then you'll see an option to turn it off. Apologies if this isn't quite right, but I did it myself recently so I know it is somewhere in there.

TPMS was an option in 06. DRL can be set on/off if you have sport chrono - if not you'll need the dealer to set. Instructions above are right but to set DRL you have to be stationary - if moving selection will be grayed out.

I have the sport chrono, will it be spelled out in the manual?

Daytime Running Lights - info is in the PCM manual not owners' manual.

^^^ that's about right for DRL option

for TPMS, u need to use the stalk (see pic below) and it will be displayed under the Tach.

go up and down to see if u can see ur tire pressures.

pull or push to access the TPMS menu

The DRL seemed to be a very straightforward fix (Thanks guys). The TPMS just isn't on my display. I've gone up and down the menu- and I don't see it. Could it be a software flaw? Or a reset issue when new tires were put on prior to me buying it?

It was optional in 06 so you probably don't have it especially if you don't see anything on the display. Check your valve stems - TPMS has metal stems.
