Anyone have any experience with the Techart "Racing" exhaust system on their car? They use the words "racing", but the mufflers look stock Porsche size, so I don't know much about what is going on there. Not sure if they just gutted a PSE or what. I'm looking to DD the exhaust, but I know companies like Fabspeed use the word racing, and replace both muffler cans with resonators, and drone like crazy.

Just how loud is the Techart "Racing" exhaust on a non turbo Carrera 997.1?

 

I have the Techart Racing exhaust on my 997.1 that I use as a DD. It has a very nice sporty tone, not too loud during normal driving but really opens up with an aggressive note at WOT. In my opinion it gives you the best of both worlds with no drone. If you are ever in Dallas give me a shout and I will let you hear for yourself.

 

Hey wingnut2u, Please post a pic of the Racing Exhaust by Techart, because I didn't know they made one. If it is a racing Exhaust like ours which does not use mufflers, it must drone too because its so free flowing and there is no sound control. The Fabspeed Supercup does produce drone in the lower RPM's but it sounds great after 3200.

Yeah "Racing", not racing. Like I said, the Fabspeed is resonators, and the Techart looks like a repurposed PSE.

Wingnut, I appreciate the quick and first hand experience response. Just what I was looking to hear. I plan on purchasing one sometime this weekend. I actually decided to ask because I was going to jump on the deal you just referenced, Wing, but realized all three sets they have for sale are for non S 997's. LOL.

 

Question, the only difference in S and non S when it comes to aftermarket kits is the exit pipe to the tips is smaller on the non S, and therefore fits Non s single tips, right?

I.e. I can buy non S exhaust, put it on my Carrera S, and just get non S tips for it?

 

Yea that does not look like any race exhaust, that is probably a set of mufflers with a guided chamber inside for an increased sound. I knew something didn't sound right about it. You can't use an S muffler with non S tips, because the outlet size of the S muffler is larger. So you would need new Tips. We have them if you need them. Shoot me a PM for special member pricing.

It is it the other way around. I have an S, and these mufflers are non S, but in a way you still answered the question. I would have to get non S tips to fit.

 

Do you have a sound clip you could share?

 

I wish I did, but nope no sound clip and I just had a titanium plate and 12 screws put in my clavicle so I am going to skip going outside to go make one too

 

12 screws? Wow. Hope you recover well. Hope the surgeon didn't get paid by the screw.

 

You should consider the gundo hack. It will save you some $$ that can be used on other mods.
