My 2009 997 HPFP Failure

Carrera 2, 2009 DFI MK2

Now my car reatched 48800 Kilometers, While I am going to work 6:30 AM, i stop on the traffic light i got a message on the dashbord, REDUCED ENGINE POWER
then i stop the engine and start it again after that it working very well, after i reatched the work after 20 Kilometers from my home, i checkd on the Durametric scan tools, as i remember it written low pressure fuel pump.

I glade the PORSCHE company and Al Nabooda oure dealer in Dubai and the stuff becouse thay told me to changing it free of charge even the warranty is expaired and i never take the car to service.

And now also i prefering to fix it with my self even if i pay to git it.
The price of the pump HPFP in dubai is 850 $US

This is the way I understood it... no biggie.

Just curious, why do you want to do this yourself if the dealer will do it as part of a recall? are they that unscrupulous that you are worried about them making up an additional problem to charge you $$?

Thanks for your comment PasPar2

I have three reasons for that.

1- My car is a manual transmission and i believe a lot of people in my country have no idea haw to drive the manual transmission evan if thay have it. if you make searching on this forum you will note alot of people Burning the clutch before 30,000 Miles

2- I love cars and tecnology i study and reading alot about vehicles specially electronic and ecu tuning. and i dont like anybody to work on my private car

3- For me the warranty expires after i leave the show room, and reach my home, and after the first service if i not take the vehicle to the delar workshop i will not blaming the dealer for any problem happening to the car.

Well, the initial HPFPs had issues in some of the batches. The replacement action addressed this by replacing the pumps in a bunch of cars. I expect your car should have had the pump replaced. Not taking the car by the dealer, or at least checking with them periodically, means you would not be aware of these technical bulletin issues, so there is some benefit at checking in with the dealer, even if you do your own service at home.
