They look great. Did the same thing a couple of weeks ago with carbon fiber sills that I bought from Suncoast. It took me quite a while to clean off the old adhesive, but well worth the effort. Enjoy.

Nice color combo. I know a couple of guys that have installed new sills & they added the clear plastic paint wrap to to keep the new sills from scratching. When the vinyl gets scratched up they take off the old & add the new.

Thanks. I didn't have much trouble with the adhesive, most of it came off with the plastic sill guards, I guess the car being relatively new and the hot weather here helped.

Thanks. That would make sense with carbon fibre sills but my stainless are meant to be scratched.

Lucky you, but you are missing the fun of changing it yourself.

Get the missus' hairdryer and heat the old sills evenly until its hot enough to just barely touch with your finger, pry it up from one side and stick a plastic knife underneath to help lifting the adhesive from the paint. Make sure to use a peeling motion from left to right (or right to left) while pulling on the sill, this is will help the adhesive to come off with the old sill instead of stuck on the paint. Clean the residual with a glue stain remover.

Good luck and have fun!

I did it as well a few months ago.
One thing that surprised me (and that I discovered later) is that there are two different side sills.
One for pre-restyling and another one for the restyling.
Even if they perfectly fit, the older one it has more rounded edges, the newer one is more sharp.

Mine (newer model, on a MKI )

Older

Yes, of course I'll not die for that, but I'd have preferred to have the older ones, aligned with the car year (2007)

Suncoast actually sent me a single piece of 997.1 sill guard by accident when I ordered a pair (obviously), they then sent another piece to match but it was the 997.2 version as the .1 sill can not be ordered anymore. so now I have a spare 997.1 sill lying around,

Not illuminated, but there was a DIY for the illuminated version somewhere on this forum.

Stainless should look great on a black 997, gives a nice contrast.
