997.2 Carbon Fiber Rear Valence/Diffuser?

Need opinions on a rear valence upgrade,

Vorsteiner

or

Rottec

The Rottec valence has a choice of matte or gloss finish carbon. Vorsteiner is more aggressive looking but is also a bit more pricy.

Only thing I'm not sure about the Rottec design is the extra "lip" it has, looks like a carryover design from their 997.1 diffuser,

The Rottec doesn't seem to offer anything other than looks which is an individual thing. I don't care for either.

My choice would greatly depend on your other (if any) body panels/upgrades.

The Vorsteiner looks like it hangs down too much, making the inside of the bumper act like a huge parachute trapping air that is trying to escape from underneath the car. It looks like it would have the *opposite* effect to what it is intended to achieve. The vertical fins on the back are merly cosmetic and have no aerodynamic benefit.

The Rottec looks like it is merely a horizontal cosmetic stick-on part.

I am not a big fan of these things, unless you are just looking to improve/change the appearance of the back end. In that case, it just depends on what you think looks better.

BUT, if you are looking for a diffuser to actually work, it would have to extend all the way underneath the car with a smooth plate to create a venturi effect. This would result in a high velocity low pressure region under the car creating down force and reducing drag at the back end. (Take a Look at the bottom of a Ferrari to see how the aerodynamics should be done if you want a functional diffuser).

The price tag is what stopped me too...

I figured I could build a plant and make one out of unobtainium for that price...

There is apparently a speedART diffuser http://www.fiercespeed.com/porsche/5...er-srs-ii.html which claims to improve aerodynamics and downforce.

Has anyone got one of these?

Thanks for the all feedback, I understand these are just cosmetic add-ons which is why I prefer to call it 'valence' instead of 'diffuser'.

At this stage I'm leaning towards the Rottec valence as it offers a cleaner look. But the speedart is also interesting, seems might be actually functiona?
