As per sun coast website:

NOTE: Reduces ground clearance and maximum approach angle on gradients. Porsche does not recommend installing this bumper without adding a rear spoiler.

Can anyone with just the front bumper verify how necessary this is to have a rear spoiler compliment the new front ? i actually use to have a C4S with aeroklt and sometimes i wish i didn't have the big wing.

It is absolutely unnecessary. The front bumper does not alter the driving dynamics one bit, it's purely an aesthetic touch, and a great one. Even my dealership told me not to add the wing because it looks perfect as it is.

The bumper comes in primer, so it's ready for paint prep and paintwork. Not much to it.

what would one do with the stock bumper afterwards since some of the stock pieces need to be used? would folks buy it on eBay?

I noticed Suncoast has the Aerokit front bumper conversion for about $1400.

I talked with the best local bodyshop (and most expensive) and got a "quote" for somewhere around $700 to paint and install the bumper. I think this is reasonable considering the quality of work they do, i.e. it will look OEM.

My question is does this conversion require any extra parts or extra cost beyond just the cost of the bumper from suncoast? Any brackets, fittings, electrical, or any other things that might nickle and dime a project like this out of my budget.
i went to the website and did not see this awesome price. i assume the promotion is done?

I just had a new lip painted and put on my car, the old one was all messed up from scrapping. I found a post from a couple years ago where someone suggested putting rubber protective door trims on the bottom of the lip to keep it from getting messed up. I picked up two sets of them from autozone (4 dollars each). I would highly recommend you get this done before scrapping up your front spoiler. I scrapped a couple of times today and it has held up so far. I'll just replace them after few more scrapes for another 4 dollars... Much better than having to replace the whole spoiler again.

I got mine from Ryan at Suncoast. It is a huge step up from fiberglass. The paint cost should be less since there will be no adjustments needed! I am super happy with the paint and install.

I put a layer of electrical tape and then a few layers of black duct tape....works great. I have to add layers of duct tape every few weeks. When it gets too thick, I start over! This protects against bumping into parking lot concrete stall bumpers too!

I think the Pro Trim solution I mentioned would work much better than any of these. I've scraped it dozens of times, pretty hard, and it's perfect. And it's custom made for the aerokit bumper, so it looks good - better than stock - and it's not much more expensive than the homemade solutions (under $50 for a custom-fitted color-matched piece).

I tried calling the pro trim people, and they acted like they didnt know what I was talking about. I'm sure that would work a little better, since it appears to be thicker, but as long as you have something down there i think it should be fine.

That's weird, but I've never dealt directly with them. I got the Pro Trim number from my body shop. You might mention it was what they sell to Rick Montgomery at Los Gatos Collision. http://www.losgatoscollision.com/ Or you could try getting in touch with Rick directly. It's just the plastic strip for the bottom of the bumper spoiler lip. Not sure if theres a better name than that....
