Yes.

Another way of saying it:

If you set or control it via the touch-screen, its the PCM.
Of you set or control it via stalks on the steering column it the OBC.

When the engine is on the headlights stay on (regardless of the **** setting) and don't turn off. I want only the DRLs to stay on during the day and not the main headlights. I went into the instrument cluster and tried selecting and unselecting the daytime light option and nothing still happens!

Have any of you guys faced this same problem / know how I can get my headlights to be off while driving??

Thanks so much in advance!

The car is CPO so the best thing for you to do is bring it back to the dealer and have the settings changed. DRLs on 997.2 should only be LEDs. It should not take them long to do.

Got an email from the dealer which I bought it from stating the following: "I found out it has to be done through service computer, if you can't change it via the cluster. Come by here or a local dealer so the setting can be changed."

Anyone heard of this having to be changed through the "service computer"?
Yes, it's routine. A lot of settings require the computer interface that Porsche provides to dealers. I'm not sure how that particular setting ever got screwed up on a dot two in the first place, but they won't charge for fixing it. Or if they do, tell the service manager you're going to another dealer and explain why.

It's been my experience that German car control electronics are simply not intuitive like, let's say, cars from Asia or the US for that matter. Ya I know thumbing through the manual is not a lot of fun but it can be educational and rewarding at times.

I usually take mine w/ me into the crapper and do some serious reading.
Bet your glove box has a distinctive bouquet about it...

Although some of the user's manual isn't worth a 's**t" (pun intended) . . . . I've never used it in place of toilet paper.
