I am replacing my stock shift **** due to wear as shown below. I asked for opinions in my thread about restoration in the detailing forum. I thought this forum would get some more traffic and more opinions.

No, the previous owner did. He was careless with the little things that I am now restoring. Some people don't take the same mentality that I do that we are more stewards of these cars than owners.



Thanks for all of the replies. I am leaning toward the silver **** also. I've learned in my life that I have expensive taste, so I'm sure this will be no exception. It will probably be double the other two. I should get the price tomorrow.

If you didn't wear out the leather then I would go with the turbo one. Or even the x51.

 

I chose to go with an aftermarket stainless steel weighted shift **** and for me, It was one of the best modifications I have done to my 997. I can snap a picture for you tomorrow if you want.

 

Did you consider disassembling the ****, and sending off the leather portion be rewrapped in something like Alcantara?

 

I feel you! we are the same... the worst prior owners are the ones that used to have dogs... those little ****ers scratch everything and the soft touch finish doesn't like dogs.

I went with an black anodized aluminum **** from Rennline. I could not be happier!
