MY09, plus the low miles on the 09... With a CPO car I m not sure you need a DME.. It was probably done during the CPO inspection process. But if it helps you sleep, it s your money. After seeing the 08 is an S and the 09 is not I ll only add that you should drive both cars and see what your impression is. Try and spend as much time as you can with each car, then you may have some questions that need answers. Good luck, have fun!

09 all the way. Direct fuel injection = win even if it is a non-S

I'd say 09 for all the 997.2 benefits or like a previous poster suggested, save a bit more for the 997.2 S.

+1 on the 09S prices are coming down slightly and there are som good deals on some 09'S out there. You will be happier in the long run!

I currently have 09 C2S. But I was going through same thing b/w 08 C4S. C4s much more options w/ less miles but it was noticeably slower car. I decided to spend extra to get 09. IMS was main factor for me. I only had my car for 8 months now but I love new 981. I may consider it this summer. I really think after having 987 Boxster S and 997.2 C2S. I miss my Boxster believe it or not...

thanks again everyone for hinting re DEM Report...last time I had a manual tranny car was 10 y ago...was not aware that such diagnostics could be pulled...
when I ask Porsche dealers about it on CPO cars they sort of wiggle, sweat a bit, try to change the subject and end communications soon afterwards....etc etc...awesome screening tool

hi all..hope you can provide more input here..
is it possible to fudge a DEM report for a tech ?...
how to recognize, that diagnostic data was played with ?
are there any other reports/tests that I can ask of a delaer to further my confidence ia car?
I am doing a 'long distance' buying here....can not put a finger on car right away...have to pre-screen as much as possible first
thanks for your input
m.

Thumbs up

This one is a no brainer for me as the updated engine/PDK tranny/touch screen and LED facelift make it definitely worth going with the 09 over the 08
