H&R Springs? 19" or 20" wheels? help

I'm looking to buy some aftermarket wheels and I'm coming across soooo many different opinions when actually, it all comes down to personal preference.

That being said...

Here's my questions:

1) Does the C4S sit any lower then the base 997?
2) Do I need a lowering kit to make 20" rims look o.k. and not like a 4x4?
3) How many hours of labour can expect for a shop to install an H&R spring kit.

I'm on a tight budget and I have the option of buying 19" rims I like or 20" used (excellent condition) that I love. Everywhere I search I can't find any pictures of a 997 on 20" wheels with stock suspension.

My other issue is my driveway. I had to get the city to add asphalt to my curb because my sidewalk is wonky and I scrapped with no lowering kit. I have asked the city to repair the sidewalk but who knows when that will happen and contractors are not allowed to work on city sidewalks. BS

Thanks for all your posts.

Assuming you keep the overall diameter of the wheels the same your tire to fender gap will remain the same. The visual effect might make the 20" look better.

Here's a link to 20" wheels. However, the car is lowered a bit more than with H&Rs:

As to lowering with H&R springs and scraping, your problem will increase.

the c4s is lower, but still putting springs on makes it look much lower. no matter what size wheels you have

If you decide to go with the 20's I recommend you have your car lowered. It will definitely look a bit awkward as you will be running super low profile tires (30's in the rear and 25 in the front). No issue with getting up the driveway. Cheers!

Well...

Alan C. says my issues will increase and tlis300 says they won't.

I think the springs will lower the car about an inch so I'm guess I will have an inch more of scraping.

What to do... what to do...

I would really like the city to just come fix my dam side walk so I can put some new body work on but it doesn't look likes it's going to happen.

Thanks for the posts.

if you get proper tires, the overall diameter of your wheels will stay the same. labor to install springs should be 4-6 hrs.

Are these 19's or 20's on these cars?

Is this (BLACK) what they call looking like a 4x4?

I'm looking at these wheels in a 19".

Thanks

*** I just checked the Roderick site and they don't make 20's so they are both 19's but one is lowered***

I believe tlis300 wasn't thinking about your desire to lower the car with H&Rs. If the car scrapes now and you add 20" wheels with the same OD on the tires the scraping should remain the same. If you also lower the car 1" it will scrape more. It's an inch lower.
