Clutch pedal is slow to return

I have an 08 C2S with 46k miles on it. My clutch pedal is slow to return. It feels like its hung up on something and makes shifting very difficult. Do you guys know anything I should check for before I take it to the dealership?
Thankyou.

I'm not sure if you could do it on your car but I managed to crimp the clutch hydraulic line on a previous 99 996. The jack caught the line and put a flat spot on about half of it's cross section. The clutch then had a very slow return. New line and the problem was solved.

I took my car to the dealership yesterday, and they said I need a new clutch. I could tell I was going to need a new one soon but the speed of feeling some clutch slippage to having zero clutch caught me off guard.
He quoted me there $2100 on the spot but then called today to tell me it was going to be $2400 and reminded me about my brake pads (I already bought pads and was just waiting for a free weekend). Errrr... annoying... Does $2400 for a clutch job sound reasonable? Not that it matters now, but in the future I may take my business elsewhere.

Thanks for your replies!

Just replaced my clutch, flywheel and RMS (plus oil change, brake fluid flush and new wipers) for ~ $5,500. The cost of the flywheel alone was $1,500.

Cool, sounds like I over paid but not by much. I don't mind paying a premium as long as I get a premium product. I guess I have no point of reference though. I'll try the indy shop for my next maintain item.

I've not had to do a clutch before but I've heard dealers around here charge about $3k out the door. I've also got a friend in PCA who used a small indy shop and ended up having issues the dealership had to sort out eventually. Choose your mechanic wisely. Not all indy shops (or even dealers) are equal.

could it possibly be just the clutch master or slave cylinder as the culprit?

The price is in the right ball park for a clutch replacement (pressure plate, disk, release bearing). Have them check the flywheel for abnormal play and wear, this part is about $1,300. Also good to check for IMS leakage and replace the RMS seal.

My 08 C2S clutch was starting to feel like the beginning of the end at 30K miles. That's one reason I went for PDK this time. I have a smooth driving style so don't think it was me. Never slipped or burned it.
