Guys what kind of tires do you guys have on your 911s? Do you recommend one brand set vs the next?


I currently have the Bridgestone Potenza RE50A's on the car and will be needing some fresh tires in the next summer months...im thinking about the same bridgestones, Pirelli PZeros or Michelin Pilot Sports...what's your opinion

I have the same tires on my car as you do. I will likely go with the Michelin Pilot Super Sports (not the PS2) for the next set. Seems to be a great value and rating by Tire Rack. The super sport has a hire rating and is cheaper than the PS2.

RE11 are fine tires. Right now I run on z1 star specs and love them.
Some like conti dw for street driving.

i switched to Michelin Pilot Super Sports and am very happy. Read all the positive reviews on Tirerack....

That's exactly my outlook, the bridgestone are fine, but from what I see the Michelin Super Sports are all around better tires in terms of tread life and ratings etc.

I've run the RE-11s and the MPSSs. For predominately street driving I'd go with the MPSSs they are good in both wet and dry. The RE-11s might have an edge on the track if it is dry.

I had PS1 now have PS2 the ride seems to be realitivly the same....but I will see how long they wear to make my decision on the next set down the line.

I feel that the P-Zero's are loud, and have read similar sentiments from others. I guess they have great dry weather grip, but I don't track my car (or drive at the limit on public roads) to offer an opinion on that. I hear the Michelin's are easier on the ears .

I just switched to PS2 from P-Zeros. Love the PS2s. Huge diffetence like night and day.......

Pilot Super Sports . . . . Less $$$ than the PS2's w/ just about equal performance. I did a Michelin Pilot Super Sport test day at Auto Club Speedway (Fontana, CA) last year in which various tires were mounted on BMW 3 Series and Lexus IS250. The Super Sport was noticeably smoother, had more grip and predictable in both dry and wet conditions.

My son put a set on his new M3 (E92) and they perform just great.

My RE-11s have been great on the street. I do not track this car and it seems I have a lot of tread remaining even after roughly 13,000 miles. My next set will be the MPSS just to try. For those that get only 7K - 9K miles on the street, you guys must be pushing the car every chance you get - that's pretty aggressive street driving or maybe a few DEs or AXs.

I got the Super Sports this summer 4 for $1500 out the door and I've always been very happy with Mich tires.

If you live in a rainy area like I do, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus is an excellent high performing all-season tire. They're quiet, good performance and great traction in all conditions...
