Exhaust specialties. They have 3 locations. I used the one in Beaverton. They have done at least 4 or 5 gundo's that I know of, so no worries on being their first .

No, I went with 1 3/4". I originally was going to go with 2" but the manager at Exhaust specialties did a ton of research prior to doing the Hack that he recommended the 1 3/4". It has plenty of sound without being to obnoxious.

Hey guys,

kinda dumb question but when I bought the car from the previous owner, he mentioned a few mods he did. I think he mentioned Gundo hack but now I'm not too sure. Is there a way to tell if my car has the hack done on it. I went under the car but didn't see any weld jobs and to be honest I wasn't sure where to look.

TIA

You'd have to get under the car and take a pic of the pipes leading to the side mufflers...

For those of you DIYers, I am getting the "Gundo Hack" tomorrow and taking the cans down myself. When putting back together, did anyone put any exhaust paste in the fittings, little bit of synthetic oil to slide back with ease? There is really only one fitting from the mufflers to the cats, so has anyone experienced any leaks?

I helped put an exhaust before on a different car and used exhaust paste to create a bond, but don't want to bond on the Porsche in case I need to remove the "Gundoed" cans later!

Please fill me in with your experiences putting the mufflers back in place.

Much appreciated fellow Porsche enthusiasts!!

No exhaust paste or oil to slide back together. I just tightened the bolts. I might be able to help if you need it. I'm in Edmond. Send me a PM if you can, or email me ecostellodo@yahoo.com

Hey Guys... I did the exchange program with Darin at FD motorsports, and also had the exhaust ceramic coated silver for added heat rejection.

Also, when installing my FD Gundo cans, I also took off the headers and exhaust heat wrapped them... now my engine bay is incredibly cooler throughout.

The cans radiate a lot of heat up onto the coolant expansion tank,as mine developed a small crack at only 34k miles. Just thought id mention these things for those who are looking for a bit cooler compartment.

when using heat wrap, I use colored silicone spray to help it cure some.
its sold in silver,black,etc.
