Ignition on click heard in Right door

Maybe someone can help.
My 09 C2S 19k on it.
Everytime I turn on the ignition, mainly in the mornings, I hear a click, as if the right door electric window motor is reseting.
At times it happens also during the day as I restart the car.
Am planning to take it to dealership today or next week.
Anyone had this, any advice, a SIB?

Thanks

Check options in PSM. I think there is a setting to lock on ignition or lock when moving.

Should be PCM not PSM, sorry.

From Owners manual:
On vehicles with the Sport Chrono Package Plus, the PCM can be used to activate automatic door locking.

I'll swear I hear my passenger door window move when I start the car. Funny, it only occurs once when starting. There is no other sound such as moving back to the original position after starting. It is definitely not the door lock solenoid. That is an entirely different sound and much louder.

I'm going to start watching the window labeling on the passenger window near the window sill to see if I can catch it moving at start up.

I know I'm not crazy because I've been tested. Several times.

I do not have sport chrono. And if I leave the passenger window open or slightly down it does not occur. So I think it is the window motor.
Call dealer will look at it on Monday.

From page 26 of my owner's manual:
"Automatic lowering of the door windows

If the door windows are closed, they will be automatically opened by a few millimeters when
the doors are opened and, when the doors are closed, they will be closed again. This makes it
easier to open and close the doors and protects the seals.
Therefore, you should pull the door handle slowly so that the door window can be lowered
before the door is opened."

The sound that you hear might be the sound of the windows closing.

I am aware of that feature I have it on my 335i.
Most modern frameless doors have it
BUT: It happens on the passenger side when the door is closed and no one has opened it, it should not, at least I think, it should not

By design, when you pull the outside door handle, both windows go down little. Then, when you close the door, both windows go back up to the top.

possibly, good point
It could be that the mechanism is just loud because if I keep the driver door open and turn on the ignition it does not happen.
I still think it should not be so loud :-)

The dealership will think, here another "..." who is overbearing and finnicky
:-)

OK
so after reading all your posts here is what I did and found out
1- it does not happen if drivers door is open and I turn on the ignition
2- The passenger window does not come down at all when you open only the driver door. (I put post it notes on both windows and watched)
3- It is the window, as when the tick happens the window goes up a small bit and it is always the first time in the morning and at times during the day)

So I am not sure if the passenger window is "slipping" a little with time, or it is not set right, or if all of this is normal and the motor is just loud.

We will see what the dealer says

Have you lost power (dead battery) at any time? If so, then the window(s) may need to be reset as to where "home" is for the down and up position. I had this happen to my bimmer. The battery died with the windows closed and when I replaced it with a new battery, the window shifted down when I opened the door but when I closed the door, the window closed but continued beyond because it lost the "home position" and tore up the gear of the motor.

Excellent point, I do not recall losing power, but again, I bought the car as a 2 y old puppy. :-)
I will mention to dealership
