Question 997 GT3 lower grills with frame?

Hi everyone, I recently added a GT3 look front bumper to my 996 and want to add grills. I was at Rennsport Reunion last year and saw a GT3 look bumper on a 997 that seemed to have lower grills that also included a small black plastic frame that fitted inside the bumper openings. I can't seem to find them anywhere online...

Does anyone know of any lower GT3 grills that are not just the metal grill itself?

David

Thanks Chuck, I checked all of them and they were only the metal grills too. What I am looking for is the metal grills that include a black plastic frame around them that fits into the openings in the bumper.

Apparently those are only for the MkII version 996 GT3... I have the 997 GT3 style bumper.

In looking at that picture though, it looks more like black sealant rather than a frame.

Just DIY for ~ 1/10 the price. I recently made some for my new aerokit bumper using powder coated aluminum (80% open from ebay) and also fabbed some clips (sheet metal from Lowe's) to hold them in place (a la rennline). Took about 2 hours total. Just waiting for paint on my bumper to cure a bit longer before I put it on and have clear bra installed.

Good luck

nice DIY Burg...not just black sealant...actually a frame but the picture of the 997 GT3 screens doesn't have enough detail to tell...they look like they have no frame

Thanks, Chuck. No sealant used and correct, no metal ring frame but none needed [I hope - LOL]. Metal, in general as you know, gains rigidity ['strength'] when bent/folded. In picture #2 above you can see the screens have ~ 3/4" lip all the way around and a slight convex contour (due to trim piece's shape). This makes them sturdier and helps them grab onto the trim. Six clips were then used to secure each screen to black trim.

It's sort of an either or point... a frame/ring would certainly add more rigidity but extra securing clips compensates and accomplishes same thing.
