Help Buying a 4S

I have an unusual circumstance. I'm looking at buying a 2007 4S. The Vin is coming up as an S. The floorboards say 4S and the name plate on the rear has been changed to say 911. The owner seems legit, but it feels weird. How can I tell if it's actually a 4S. He claims the vin is an error.

open the frunk, I believe the AWD cars have a clearly different cargo area than a C2.

Just do a burn out...if you get all 4 wheels spinning it's a 4S.

That did it. It's a 4S. Something is messed up in the system though. Frustrating cause it's friggin beautiful. Thanks!

All carfax reports will always show S and not 4S.
Nothing to worry about.

"He claims the vin is an error"

A messed up vin is usually a good indicator to move on

Easy, look at the tail lights. The 4s will have a defined space to the outside edge, whereas the S tail light don't

Thanks for the reassurance. I spoke to Porsche and they confirmed that they have it listed as a 4s and can send a certificate of authenticity. Insuring it was a worry as the vin pulls up as an s so they would only insure it as that, but I found that they will accept the certificate as proof it's a 4s if I have to make a claim. Here's a photo.

Anyone else have the insurance issue like this?

Beautiful!
I just picked up mine on Wednesday. Nothing beats the fat *** on a 4.
Just sitting in the driver seat looking out your side view mirrors and seeing that awesome back is perfection!

They are Porsche rims. Not sure of the tire size.

Apparently they are. Original owner had Porsche setup the entire car the way it is. 42000 miles
