How should I lower my GTS?

Hi folks,

I did a few searches, but since the GTS isn't all that common I was having a hard tome finding my answers.

My question is which way is the best to lower my GTS. It has PASM and I was hoping to lower it an inch or so. Techart springs lower it just about 3/4 of an inch.

I was thinking coilovers but wasn't sure what to expect from the ride.

This is not my daily driver and I do plan on doing a few track days in the future.

I'm also getting different wheels since I know I want to drop it. Needs more of an agressive offset. Thinking DPE, HRE, or D2Forged.

Anyway, does anyone have some thoughts or advice?

Thank you all in advance

I had Damptronics on my C2S but I am leaning towards the Techart springs from Sharkwerks. Another possibility is getting a set of springs from the SPASM equipped cars. Less expensive and factory equipment. The SPASM cars are about 10mm lower than the PASM cars.

I think it really depends on what you want. "A Few" track days in a recreational division (depending on your driving capability) may mean nothing as my stock suspension handles the track fine. If your concern, as indicated in your question, is ride quality - leave it alone. Anything you do will effect your ride. Most people complain about the stiffness of the ride out of the box and that won't get softer after lowering.

If you are looking to do track days, I would suggest some coilovers. Not only will they lower your GTS, they are also bump and rebound adjustable.

I'm with Denversteve on this one; we lapped the field at last DE track day at Summit Point on stock suspension - and I still scrape my front end from time to time

I initially started with H&R springs, which lowered the ride about 1.25"but found the spring rate not matched to the OEM PASM damping. I changed to Bilstein Damptronic coilovers and have not looked back. (especially after fixing the "clunk" sound issue). If you're doing some track days, coilovers also allow you to do a corner weight balance (cwb).
