Which is the best looking, lightweight and reasonably priced 18" wheel
it's hard to beat OZ Superleggera; light, reasonably priced and Italian made
They are reasonably priced, but I don't think that they are that great looking, but good wheel otherwise.
Depends on budget and what you are looking for in a wheel.
Light weight, good looks, Low cost. Pick two.
If the budget is tight your only option will be a cast wheel. Or a "flow formed" or "Rotary Forged" wheel. That is a process that strengthens the barrel of a cast wheel by pressing it between rollers. It allows for the same strength wheel with lower weight. This is the technology that Porsche is using on the 991 wheels.
If you can spend $4,000 USD then you can find something forged and very light.
After much debate I ordered a set of OZ ultraleggeras. I found them to be the best compromise in all three categories. Lighter than stock, pretty good looking, and moderately priced. They only come in 19" though for Porsche's IIRC. They do make a 18" wheel that is Porsche specific in a different style.
Champion is probably the strongest wheel out of those 3 as they are 8000 ton forged pressed and HRE is less and BBS might be the same depending on which wheel.

for track in 18" first choice would be OZ allegeritas in 8.5" front 11.5" rear. they still do not make any 9" wide front rim for 997 cars imho but you can chaeck with Damon on that.
After OZ goes CCW C10 or C14 in 9" front 12" rear, such a set may cost about of $2K used, $3K new. very good wheels.

The OZ's will run about $1,800 a set
The CCW's are forged and will run about $2,800 a set in the standard aluminum finish. You'll need to add about $300 to have them powder coated.
The OZ's may actually be lighter than the CCW's. The CCW's are going to be very very strong.
The 18" - lightweight - affordable market for wheels is scarce and even more so when it comes to Porsche wheels. One brand comes to mind; Forgestars!

but it does not matter as I can run 265 and 275 rubber on 9" wide CCW and cannot do that on 8.5" wide OZs.
but you cannot run 265s fronts on a stock car anyway, so, until suspension is stock OZs will work like a charm.
