Really, Porsche?

A nice 991 tri-fold brochure came in the mail the other day from Porsche.

3.8 liter 350hp engine? Really?

I own a multimedia production company and I PERSONALLY proofread all video and print text. Stuff like this drives me crazy.

LOL.

+1. They could have done better at Kinkos. I bet they noticed the error after the printing. I bet the mistake was from Porsche. Reprint too expensive. What do you think this mailer cost per piece? However, you are right, the company should do better at proofreading. Many companies out there could care less about the service they provide.

Ultimately, no matter what, it's Porsche's fault. They either provided their agency with bad info and then completely missed the error though the approval process, or it got screwed up somewhere in the middle.Either way, proofs of the brochure design were reviewed and approved at Porsche.

Funny thing is, I always familiarize myself with my clients products so that I really understand what they're trying to say. Obviously the guy or gal at the Mac was focused solely on layout and font size while having no idea what was being said.

Sad, but I see it everyday with the marketers I work with...

In my business I see them all day long, when you stare at the same type overs and over again, it gets missed. It ultimately falls on some lower level marketing person that is so happy they are producing a pretty brochure, they lose sight of the copy.

We miss things all the time. We proof stuff, 2 or 3 other sets of eyes, mistakes still occur.

I know, face palm.

I got a REALLY nice color book on the 991 Convertible. Like coffee table quality. The printed pictures were stunningly nice. In fact, it is sitting on my coffee table right now lol.

They're finally calculating HP at the wheels instead of the crank? That's awesome!!
