A few weeks ago I ordered a set of HRE 501 Vintage wheels for my 2010 C4S Cab. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but they're mine!

I was just wondering since even though I got a very good deal on these they were still an "investment"....how many of you have invested in HRE Wheels and what's been your experience with them?

HRE wheels are awesome, and over half of our customers have them and love them. In my opinion they are one of the few aftermarket wheels that increase the value of a car.

 

We sell them too, but my opinion is not biased because of it. I know a bit about the supply side of the business, and truth is they use the BEST forging supplier out there. I have met Alan, and his background in aerospace engineering truly shows in his wheel design. His attention to detail does, too. I admit, I never "got" the appeal of HRE until we started carrying them here. Once I had a chance to actually get one in my hands and look at it, I understood completely what the west coast appeal was. The build quality, finish quality, and attention to detail on them is like a fine watch. They truly are like jewelry to look at, especially the brushed finishes. To take a 200# block of raw alloy and get what they do out of it takes real expertise within the industry, and only a handful have it. HRE is one of them.

They are really a great company. Their wheels are expensive, but well worth it. I had a set of HRE C21 that I used for 4 years. After tracking the car, I noticed a tiny crack along one of the lug bolt holes. I contacted HRE and told them what happended and they requested I mail them all 4 of my wheels for furthur examination.

Much to my surprise and admiration, they informed me that they would replace all 4 of my wheels with the 4 new ones of my choosing for FREE. I chose some brand new HRE C93's finished in high gloss black and these were made custom for my widebody GT3. They shipped out to me at a total cost of ZERO DOLLARS.

This after 4 years of use. What an awesome company. This is the 4 set of HRE's I've owned in the past several years, and I will continue to buy their product.

That's quite a story....almost unbelieveable. It's one thing to get beautiful wheels; it's another to deal with a beautiful Company......a nice bonus for me!

Here's the real kicker. I wasn't even the original purchaser of the wheels that cracked. They came with the car when I bought it used 4 years ago. HRE knew this and still honored them as though I was the original purchaser. That is INSANELY good customer service. Talk about standing behind a product! BTW, this all happened this past January 2012, so this is fresh information.

I ordered a custom set of C93's last week and can't wait for them to arrive. Lon and Tito patiently and quickly answered a few dozen emailed questions while I wavered between various options for colors and type of center cap etc.

I chose HRE because I have really liked the looks of them since I bought my car, and for their reputation for quality and excellent customer service.

Now, like Tom, I just have to wait for UPS Santa to arrive.
