2010 911 S as Daily Driver?
2010, 911 S, PDK
Thinking about pulling the trigger (see other recent post). I live in South Florida. Roads are really pretty great, and I do a lot of highway. About 50 miles per day. The subject car is PDK. Do you think this would be a good daily driver, because my other beater is a 5-speed '93 miata. Think I'd get beat up in it? Suspension too stiff for daily? Or is the newer engineering more forgiving? Thoughts?

Have you driven the roads in question in a porsche before? My take on most Florida roads is that they are some of the smoothest out there. Will the car have a sport or PASM button? Just keep it off and you'll be a-ok. Enjoy the commute.
Yes, great DD. Had one with 30k miles in 2 years. You will appreciate it more with an exhaust, IPD plenum, and an ecu tune. Make sure the car has sport chrono and always have it in sport (when the engine warms up) and have the sport suspension set on normal. If you leave the sport button off, the car is very boring and shifts into 4th gear by 35mph.

Anyone who gets in mine quickly says "you drive this to work every day?".
No I have a GTI for that and appreciate the comforts it provides.
I could handle the 911 as DD but many cant and I dont want to but not for the comfort issues.

DD my '08 C4S and love it. I recognize too that they aren't the most comfortable machine compared to what's out there - but it's all about your priorities I suppose. I personally feel that after a certain standard of "comfort" - it's all the same. I never was one for 1,245 speaker sound system, 19 zone climate control, blah blah ....
It's a great DD - imho - just the perfect compromise of comfort and excitement. Go for it.

I drive my 07 Turbo every day, 275 miles a week. I have an SUV for the kids and weekends, if I didn't drive the turbo to work it wouldn't get driven at all. I don't want to pay Porsche money for it to sit in my garage collecting dust.

My 2S was my daily driver for a couple years, and loved it. Now my daily driver is my 911 Turbo, and I like it even more. Great choice in a car, Porsche build a good sports car for the real world. It can drive you to work, golf, shopping, dinner, road trips, or take it to the track if you so choose. Its not a single focus car that can only be tolerated in short bits like I found my Ferrari to be. I liked it to, but would not be happy if it was my only car. But my Porsche is currently my only car, and rarely do I drive my pickup, its purely used for hauling or heavy towing.
