Evoms 997 Vflow mod
Evoms 997 Vflow mod
I've read in countless threads that one of the downsides of this, and other aftermarket air intake systems, is that they will suck in hot air from the engine and this will actually result in loss of power.
The Evo intake seems to be better shielded from the hot engine than most of the other systems in the market, but it also has a large open filter area.
Some of more expensive single filter systems have fully enclosed the filter area, thereby reducing the likelyhood of ingesting the hot air.
Questions are - if one were to close off/seal the opening on the Evo system, would it improve the overall performance of this system?
Has anyone tried the above and if so, how did you do it and did you notice ay improvements?
thx

With the amount of heat you are generating back there, you are still going to be sucking hot air...may not be as hot as before, but still hot air. Hot air = less power. If power is what you are looking for, stick w/the stock box.
If you want cool air, stock box does the trick
If you want cool sound, then get the intake.
My EVT775 is still running the stock box.
