ACRB is infamous around these parts
Basic mechanical uneasiness-

Currently my 06 997 CS is at the dealer. The water pump is being changed and I just recently had the RMS changed. I then started to think about the 3 issues that these cars seem to have (IMS. RMS and the water pumps).

I know it really is a roll of the dice as to what, if anything can go wrong with these cars. But, it does surprise me that Porsche could really let these mechanical issues exist without really addressing them. Even if you are covered with a warranty, IMO there is an uncertainty with the 2005-2008 Carrera (S) which takes some of the pleasure away from owning the car.

My car is an 05 C2S. I did some research online on these forums and found as it was later in the model year, it has the upgraded IMS unit. It has to do with the engine number I think...

Every german car made in the last 5 years seems to have had their water pump replaced. Ignore that one. Seriously.
