Nav Malfunction
Nav Malfunction
My '09 C4s has kind of a weird problem. The Nav locating Icon is about 4 blocks North and 4 blocks west of the actual location! So it all follows along but on the wrong streets. I did have a new windshield installed and wondered if there is some connection with attenas? I've driven it around for a few days hoping it would "learn" but no such luck. Don't know if there is some "reset" that I can do or whether it requires a trip to the dealer. Thanks
Things I learned today. Turns out the problem was with the glass install. There are two small wires in the right cowl area that go over the Cabin filter to attach to the antenna. If they are not perfectly seated weird Nav takes place. After the install guy had it all apart (including the wiring in the "A" pillars) it still wasn't functioning properly. He sent me away to see if it needed somehow to re learn where it was. It did so in half a block! In retrospect the problem most likely was with the seating of the two connectors. This may be important info if the wires are slightly dislodged when changing out the Cabin Filter.
Thanks for the update. When dealing with very low signal levels like GPS antennas and the like, they are VERY sensitive to any improper connections or interference from nearby signals, so care must be taken to ensure its plugged in just as designed. Go about it as if you were rewiring things inside a computer, and not like you were rewiring an old car where its all just 12 v and the slightest contact is good enough. Here you do have to make sure all connectors are clean, seated well, and all wires routed correctly and responsibly.
