997.1S Maintenance
Hi all,
I was looking for a maintenance intervals for fluids but i could not find any posts here.. Is there any DIY section too?
In owner's manual, it says transmission fluid should be changed every 120,000 miles.. is this true????
How about differential fluids? Brake fluids?
I just hit 30k miles (2007 997.1S) and wondering what should be done..
Thanks!

I had asked the same question about the transmission fluid a few months ago, but got no responses.
I read somewhere that, when you replace the transmission fluid, they can not use the exact same fluid originally supplied when the car was manufactured in Germany, due to U.S. environmental regulations, so they use a different fluid.

depends on what was done already and when.... oil and filter 20K (I do mine every 10K) and brake fluid every two years if you do not put hard track miles... Check your brakes and tires . Maybe cabin filter too. Yes there is a DIY section ( I did a brake fluid DIY not too long ago which is in there). At 30K forget about trans and diff fluids.... Not sure when spark plugs are due on your year. Take a look under and in the engine compartment and look for leaks, check front cooling rads for same and make sure it s not packed with leaves. Make sure under front hood is also clear of junk that will cause leaks from rain into the trunk. Check your battery connections which should be clean and tight. At 30K your car is just broken in....

I changed my transmission fluid at 30K miles as a precaution (not only the mileage, but also the car, '06 997 C4S... is over 5 years old). This is a best practice recommended by many good shops.
