Tubi Quality issue????
Hi guys. I wanted to step in and clarify a few things about this particular situation. I sense that the tone of this thread is starting to suggest that we (Tubi) have left FatArse "high and dry" without offering any assistance in his case, which couldn't be farther from the truth.
The unfortunate reality is that FatArse bought a second hand exhaust system that was originally purchased in 2008 (over 4 years old now). The standard warranty period on a new Tubi system is 2 years from the date of purchase, to the original purchaser. It sounds like the seller may not have been 100% truthful about the original date of purchase.
Now...even though it's clearly out of warranty and he's not the original purchaser, we always try to be as helpful and accommodating as possible to any of our customers, and to stand behind the Tubi product as much as possible. In this case, FatArse has been in constant communication with Victor, another one of our sales team here. Since day one, we offered to weld and repair the damaged muffler at no charge, and even checked our used inventory to see if there was any chance that we had a used muffler we could replace it with. We all of our welding and fabrication right here in house so I can assure you that the repair would be done properly. But unfortunately we just can't replace it with a new system in this case.
That being said, the offer to repair it at no charge still stands and we're willing to do that any time. I realize that it's still a frustrating situation, but I think that given the circumstances, we're doing everything within reason to help FatArse get back on the road again.
Thanks

Agree Tom - Champion has been resourceful through this process - checking the used parts bin, running the manufacturer's date, etc., and I do appreciate the no charge repair offer. It's just difficult for me to ship the system when the car is my daily driver...and getting a welded exhaust is never as exciting as having an exhaust that didn't need to be welded in the first place. I still think Tubi has the best sounding exhaust note. Unfortunately, that note isn't coming from the exhaust I happen to have...
No offense, i looked at purchasing Tubi and after i read this and the other thread no thanks. For the amount of money people spend on these things they should be warrantied for life.

I have mine listed for sale but i dont have any spider marks on them or cracks at all. Is this something i should warn the buyer that it may crack or break. I have these sets sitting in my garage. TO be honest i love em when i had it on my 997. Wondering if its isolated issue's. If sale go through i would give a year warranty on em and get your money back no funny business.jst my two cents.
I just had a exhaust system put in my truck, 1/4 the cost, lifetime warranty.
Cargraphic = lifetime guarantee. Advertised as premium grade stainless steel. For sure they go to extremes to minimize stress with the use of spring loaded sleeves and "aeroquip fittings" which allow heat expansion without cracking. Glad I did my homework first.
FatArse - what did you end up doing with your Tubi? I ask b/c last week I started noticing a slight drone/vibration coming from the left/rear. I checked the obvious stuff briefly figuring it could be a loose clamp or heat shield. Over the next week it has gotten gradually worse. After some Google searching I came across your post and the previous post (now closed) I started getting worried. Sure enough - I have a cracked Tubi also. Hard to take good photos in that tight area - I marked close to the cracks in yellow. I suspect the crack continues around the top of the pipe but I don't really know for sure until I pull it.
Did you get the welding done? If so - is it holding up? Is anybody else having this problem?
My car is a 2007 C4S with 21K miles. Until April it lived in South FL when I bought it w/ 12K miles on the clock. Car was actually sold new by Champion - I'm assuming they put the Tubi pieces on but don't know for sure. I'm going to drop them a line tomorrow.
Seems to be a pretty expensive exhaust to have these type of problems. I'm worried if I have it welded it will just break again in a slightly different spot. Or have people found that Tubi just does a bad job of welding and/or at quality control and if I have a skilled welder fix the current cracks will I be good?

I sent my exhaust down to Champion and they welded the crack no charge. I never saw what the weld looked like as my Indy shop put it back on the car while I was out of town, but I will tell you the soundtrack is back to the way it was pre-crack...just hoping it lasts. Good luck!
So to the OP, champion did all this for you free of charge on a second hand exhaust and you never cared to update the thread thanking them for what they did and standing behind their product?
All this after making a thread that makes people doubt tubi? at least you could have posted that the shop helped you fix a used a exhuast you didn't even but from them for FREE!
