As a kid I remember a great looking Guards Red 911 (maybe it inspired me to end up with a GR 911) with blacked out rims and trim.

The plate said " Dreams are expensive so don't F with mine"
It was a cool frame at the time.

I don't mess with anyone's girlfriend or put profanity on my car. So, for me, the plain old Porsche is all that's required. You, as has been suggested, need to decide what works for you and your car. Something other THAN what other's have may be best for you.

 

Seems like no one cares, or either doesn't know, that in many states, most of these frames are illegal. This one for instance would be illegal Under North Carolina's new law because it covers too much of the plate, in this case, the state name. I am not on any mission to ban frames, just pointing out that in many states, many of these frames are now illegal. Why give the cops a reason to pull you over, and give you a ticket. At least get one that is legal in your state.

 

I actually run a German plate up front. Michigan doesn't have front plates. I actually got pulled over once in Illinois, the trooper asked why I was running a MI plate in the rear and a Illinois plate in the rear. He wasn't the brightest guy.

 

I heard that the maize and blue "M" gave the police probable cause to pull you over to show proof that you are really a licensed driver.
