Need advice please!

So I'm getting ready to purchase a 2008 997 Turbo. It has these following mods. I'm coming from a Z06 and do not know much about Porsche and the mods they have. Do these mods look like it is safe for the car and will keep it reliable?

-H&R Porsche PASM springs
-H&R adjustable sway bar
-RSC lightweight exhaust
-RSC tuning 200 cell cats
-RSC twin exhuast tips
-AWE headers
-EVOMS boost recirculation valves
-AWE tuning throttle body
-an AWE 650hp tune on new Porsche DME
-Turbo aerokit

Please provide me some advice. Thank you!

This car is also an automatic... definitley not manual. Is the automatic tran weak on this model? Any future trans issue? The previous owner says it has 575whp.

I'd post this in the turbo section as well. No PDK on the 08's-its called a tiptronic ("tip" for short) That sounds like a good package-what's the mileage and is there any warranty? Is the tuner near by if you need help/have questions?
I have similar car and its working just fine. good luck

Looks like it's nicely modded, nothing to worry about. The only problem I have with it is, it is a tiptronic which isn't a good automatic.

Why do you say the tiptronic isn't a good automatic?

Because you're never in the gear you want to be in. It is not responsive. I drove a 997TT Tip, and it did not feel like a P car to me at all. But I'm sure things can be done with software and it could be something one can get used to... just not when coming from a manual tranny - at least not for me.

If the tiptronic is anything like the SMG in my E60, i have no problem with that..... anything weaker may bother me.

Yea, I'm planning on getting a CPO done. what kind of power can this tip handle?

Do i need to worry about trans issue in the future?

I like the fact that the 997.1 have stronger internals for modification purposes.

It is nothing like an SMG. It is an automatic transmission with controllable shift points. If you like to shift gears you will be 'bothered'.

So how slow are we talking? If the car has a AWE tune, wouldn't that have changed the shifting speed as well?

Don't really know how a chipped turbo would act. I could guess better. There's a car and driver review about the stock turbo tip you should read.

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2007-porsche-911-turbo-tiptronic-short-take-road-test?redirect=no

Best option would be drive this one and see.

The tiptronic isn't weak, it's just a torque converter - based automatic, rather than a clutch-based robotic manual (PDK). If you like the way it drives, there's nothing wrong with it. Won't be anything like the SMG.

Those look like good mods, btw.

Good luck.

The mods are great but keep in mind anytime you mod or add power you are taking a risk. Sooner or later something will go wrong with the increased power and aftermarket parts, thats just how it is. Accept that or go stock.
