If I put a deposit on a 997 Turbo....
My local dealer has a list for the Turbo and GT3 and Cayman, the list for the Turbo is the deepest. I guess most of the current Turbo drivers are Porsche saavy buyers and put deposits on future cars when they buy the current model.
My dealer doesn't really have a list. Each individual salesman has a list, so when a spot gets allocated they fight among themselves to see which salesman will get the car. I am at the top of two of the salesman's lists!

I guess they might be gearing up for an announcement soon, as my dealer asked me if I was "interested" in a 997TT just a couple weeks ago. He did not ask me for a deposit though...not yet. My dealer is usually very quiet about everything until they get final confirmation.
I am not sure if I want to be "first on the list" on a new production vehicle, until I know all the options (sequential gearbox, engine specs and HP, suspension (PASM or X73), X50, TT-S, aerokit, etc.) and their availability.
From what I have seen posted the 997 GT3 should appear in November 2005 and the 997TT in January 2006.
