the bose sucks. save your money and put some aftermarket equipment in there. however, all depends on what you're expecting out of a system. doesn't suit me, but the bose came with the car. it'll get yanked at some point soon.

I have not heard the standard. However, judging from previous (996) P models with standard audio i would suggest that the Bose system is the only crucial must have no brainer no doubt without a doubt fuggedaboutit option on earth. Come to think of it, floormats are pretty important also.

Your'e not gonna want to go aftermarket and let some amateur tear up your car. IMHO

The MOST system should only include the interface between the headunit/amp/cd changer and nav system. All other connections should be pretty much standard and should allow upgrades. It's relatively easy to add a line level converter to feed a signal to an external amp and additional speakers. As long as the head unit is decent, the rest should be a piece of cake to change out.

The head unit is in the PCM. I don't think theres room for a unit.

have you guys heard the bose in a porsche? it is horrible. it's not hard to change the equipment. all the locations are standard sizes. just go to a reputable shop. stay away from best buy and circuit city. bose is overprice junk in our cars. it is not the same bose system you get in lexus, etc... the most connections should cause no problems if you scrap everything.

DeputyDog is right it does suck... (I have it) My new Pathfinder's system blose it away....

The question is if your going to keep the OEM system, then go Bose cause the standard is worse then what you get in a base Kia.... If your up for aftermarket and there is plenty... then skip it....
