Bye Bye Buttons...

Just switched out my old PDK steering wheel for one of the new style paddle shift wheels. (Thanks, Suncoast for a good price on the new wheel)

So they can sell you the correct steering wheel at a premium. It worked with me.

How'd the swap go? I'm thinking about doing this in the future.

Install was pretty straight forward. There are different versions for 2009 and 2010+ cars. The 2009 version does not have the lights for shift or mode. Mine's a 2009 so it was just a straight swap.

I would really like a wheel without the paddles like this for my 997.1 manual.

By the way, the new wheel is a great addition to your beautiful interior color with leather and stitching everywhere!!

did the same to my 09 pdk - luv the paddles, now if they could only release a software update to engage the neutral gear by holding both the paddles

Manual wheel

PSPorsche,
Not to hijack the thread, but I got this wheel for my 997.1 manual.

pvanosta,

Nice wheel.
I do like the spokes on MidnightBlue's new wheel.
My car does not have any buttons, so I wouldn't need those.

As per Austin and San Antonio Porsche dealers, the '09 requires new software with the Porsche Design steering wheel (paddles).

PSPOrsche,
The wheel replacement uses a core similar to yours.

Just reach out to Vivid Racing, send them a pic of your wheel and they'll show you all the options available.

You pick a winner, pay the wheel plus core exchange.
They ship your new wheel and you send them back your old one after the new one is installed.

You then get a credit for the old core. The end.
