The Porsche Salesman wasn't really able to articulate about the PASM vs the normal/ sports button that comes on the 911.
Does the normal/ sport button on the base model actually electronically change the damper setting's?
Lastly, when you say, "The tires make a difference." Are you referring to the fact that the 19's have more rubber, or that as a purchaser, I can change the tires to a softer sidewall like the Michelin Pilot sports?
The only way to tell the difference is to drive a car with PASM in normal mode then get in a car without it. There is a diffence but only you can decide if it's enough difference. As for comparing to a BMW, there is no comparison, they are differnent cars and appeal to different tastes. Enjoy your search.
There is actually no difference in these two statements, so there is no duel.
What both are saying is that there is no COMFORT button/Mode. Either the Sport Suspension (Stiff Suspension) is on or off.
When off, the ride is a tad more soft. I would not say cushy.
So there is no COMFORT MODE Per Se'.
Sport Suspension Off - Softer ride
Sport Suspension ON - Stiffer Ride.
No button to press and make the car more COMFORTable like a lexus.
I think that should have broken it down for you clearly. If not, then obviously i am linguistically challenged.
Sameerg--> Thanks for taking the time to explain it. I think I read too fast as I was on my way to test drive 911.
I'm glad there was no duel and that you chose a Safer method to resolve this issue.
So, I will test drive a C2 CAb With 19" Wheel, and PASM, to get the most comfortable ride possible.

I have a 5er also. I wasn't about to sell it when I got my Pcar - I still love it for what a BMW is! Very good straight line performance, sporty suspension but still with that luxury ride feel - and if I'm going to take my wife or friends out to dinner - the 5er almost always gets the nod (and don't get me started on valets...) I even still go check out the 6ers on the showroom floor when I have my car in for service.
I think you'll find that the BMW fits your bill the best. What did you think of the Pcar on the test drive?
