Steelpig, I called the shop in Raleigh and they told me they just had one in yesterday to do the hack. Was it you by any chance? If so can you let me know how you like it?

You can add one more referral to the list. I just joined the forum to get the name of the shop in Raleigh that does the Gundo hack. Could you reply back with the contact info or PM me?

I'm in Raleigh myself and hoping to find a shop to do this on my newly acquired 997 C2S. I had a custom exhaust hack done on another make of car in the past and I recall having to hit up multiple shops before I found anyone who was willing to attempt it. It would be best to take the 911 to someone who has already done this.

Thanks.

here you go, they do very nice work. I think they have a clip of how the gundo hack sounds on their facebook page. They have two locations, I went to the one on Lacy Ave.

Awesome, thanks! I'll give them a call. The clips sound great.

Since the title is 'North Carolina' in general, can anyone recommend a decent muffler shop in Charlotte/Rock Hill for this mod?? I'm ready.

Charlotte Gundo
EuroWise in Charlotte handled mine.
Really nice welds, and really great results.
I removed the cans and took them over to the shop for the procedure.
Can't recall the price...

PTParks, you said over on the rennlist forum you had a shop in Raleigh do this for $200. Did you go to the Henry's on Lacy Ave or Capital Blvd?

I called the shop on Lacy Ave as cbst09 suggested and I was quoted $275 + tax. I know it's not much difference to squabble over, but I just want to get a fair price.

What is everyone else paying to have this mod done?

I paid $200. I was the first one they did and he did give me a break on the price since my car ended up being a training aid. That was some time ago, and I'm sure the price of materials, labor and such have increased since then. They have done several Gundo Hacks since mine and I would still recommend Henry's ( I can't remember which one I went to) since they continue to get good reviews here. They are good at what they do. You'll get your moneys worth.
