Need help with LED/DRL removal

So I purchased the DRL's from a forum member here. I tried to remove the OEM lights and it's nearly impossible. I purchased my CPO 997 a few years ago so I don't have the factory card that comes with it. I tried using credit cards like some members had suggested. 30 minutes and 4 mutilated cards later and I got about a few mm movement. I also tried a small thin screwdriver wrapped with cloth to no avail. I gave up b/c I didn't want to risk scratching the car. Tried to search the forum but didn't find much info about it. It seems like everyone removed them easily. I read the manual so I know where to insert the card. Any tips, tricks, suggestions?

TIA

Try using 2 credit cards together. Push the cards in at the correct spot and them pull out quicky. The edge of the light should pop out as you remove the cards. The clip on the inner most edge of the DRL needs to be pushed in enough to draw it away from the bumper . The width of the two cards together is just right for the job.

I used 2 credit cards and found that to be difficult although I managed to get one released only after destroying the cards. I then found I had a thicker plastic card from a window tint removal kit and that worked like a charm. You might try Home Depot and look for a small plastic card used for spackle (dry wall repair), or something like that.

I did try two credit cards at the same time, it didn't work. It appears like the previous owner had tried to remove it too. I feel some rough spots around that area.

Good suggestion, I actually thought about that.

As another suggestion, see if there's anyone local to help. I was at a kids swim meet and me yup with a neighbor who wanted to replace a bulb in his OEM .1 lights. He got the run around at an independent and the dealer, and was asking me for a suggestion on an independent. We got it done in a few mins. It was easy for me as I had the experience of installing my DRLs.
