997 Headlights: Better lighting for a non xenon 997??

Hi
My car doesn't have xenons althought I do have RotTec front drl's.
What lamps are best to:
1: Give better lighting
2. Match a little with the LED Drl's I have already installed

Cheers

Phillips is the OEM supplier. Get a HID kit (you will need to install ballasts) with a good bulb. I think the Phillips Ultinon is the bulb that matches LED DRLs the best (Albeit at some sacrificed visibility range), so I would stick to the standard Phillips OEM bulb.

Cheers. HID kits in the UK are a MOT failure so I have gone with Phillips Xtreme Power lamps. The write up's are quite impressive.

HID kits cause an MOT failure?! wow. that is quite shocking, given a properly installed HID kit would increase night time visibility. So the OEM HID kits are okay, but aftermarket is not? Even if you went the OEM route??? Not that I know anything about UK MOT laws, but that doesn't sound right. Unless there is something about a third party kit and mounting the ballasts that might cause potential electrical issues.

Basically if you haven't got a self cleaning kit, ie headlamp washers, then you will fail. It's to prevent blinding of oncoming traffic. I can clearly see why this is required; I've often been blinded by poorly fitted HID's or dirty one's.
p.s. I see you are in New York. I've been there twice and loved it. It was pre 9/11, I intend to revisit one day.
Woodbury Common was a place I visited many times; Armani jeans were so cheap!!!

Isn't self-leveling also a requirement? I would think that getting the cleaning hardware would be easy to retrofit. Leveling would be a different issue, probably making a retrofit unrealistic.

Self leveling is a requirement I think which makes the whole job a PITA. Phillips Xtreme is the way to go, simple. I subscribed to Amazon's Prime Service so my new lamps should be here this morning.

I do love your jeans esp the prices!
Unsure re Apple products and puirchasing them in America though. I am a true Apple geek and would only by them in the UK for fear of American standisation i.e. $ key instead of £ key if you see what I mean?.

The previous owner of my 997 had done a retrofit (if you can call it that!). I removed the HID kit on Friday and put halogen bulbs back in: much better lighting, much better pattern. Bottom line, getting better bulbs rather than hacking at something that was well designed is the right call.

I installed a xenon kit purchased from the board sponsor http://www.execstudio.com/
and they work great. Easy install, plug and play. Huge difference!

Can you post a picture of your car and its headlights? I've never seen a 997 without Xenons and am curious as to what it looks like.

They look almost identical to yours but without the chrome headlight washers in front of it.

I've now just gone for Phillips Blue Vision 4000k. As close to xenon as you can get. HID kits over here are a no go.

Rottec offers new bulbs that match the brightness and color of your drls. I originally only had the drls but didn't like the difference in color so I ordered their exterior light package that includes headlights, sidemarker LEDs, and rear license plate LEDs. Looks professional.
