New to me 2005 997S "Launch Edition" 18K CPO-Flew to O.C Picked Up! *PICS*
YES YES YES! I have a grin on my face from ear to ear. Just drove her back from Newport Beach, all i can say is AMAZING!
2005 S Black Launch edition only 18k original miles, and CPO from Porsche till October of 2013, with all the goodies including ceramic brakes, Full leather (makes a huge diff in the car) adaptive sports seats, nav, Chrono plus pkg, Bose, etc.. a plus is he had wheels on it which i "kind of" like...
I sold my 996 last saturday & was looking at 997s for the past 3 weeks..i didn't know to get an S or regular, etc..i really wanted Full Leather and Chrono plus..glad i didn't settle,Strange thing is i had seen one in Cali last week on Craigslist with 37k miles but seller sounded a bit fishy, when i decided i'd go see it he said it sold..i was pretty sad..Then on Monday i tried to make a deal on a 2005S in South Carolina, i told the guy to send me his paypal and i'd deposit, he changed his mind..then tuesday this one appears out of no where..a launch, just like i wanted, i called the guy yesterday, gave him deposit contingent on PPI, took first flight from Phoenix to orange county, CA this morning, and made the deal after taking it to Porsche of Newport for a quick look over.
I just arrived home from a 5.5 hr drive back to PHX, seriousley this thing is amazing, while i loved my 996, this one seems so much more civilized & refined, and the response & power delivery is so smooth..you hit that sport button & the entire car changes, the adaptive sports seats are so comfortable..
Interior is about a 6-10, some buttons on the AC unit area peeling + the center console is all scratched & dinged up, but the leather thank God looks perfect, i'm gonna repaint the center console in graphite grey to match the rest of the interior trim anyways & of course get a nice full detail on the interior, shampoo leather & bring out its shine...
ps: Some told me get a 2006 cuz of IMS, but in my opinion #1 IMS overblown issue (however i did get the LN on my 996 when i did the clutch) #2 Car has CPO #3 being a early production 2005 S means i can actually REPLACE THE IMS with the LN bearing once the clutch needs doing, the 2006+ you can't without opening the engine case $$$, so this is a PLUS for me!
TO DO: *just off top of my head*
1- clear side markers + Dectane tail lights + Dectane LED front+ SHORT SHIFTER (suggestions? I had B&M on my last)
2- LOWER LOWER LOWER i hate its stance now.
3- Some type of iPOD solution (not sure Denison works on this one or not, will search- hoping for just an AUX cable like on my 996)
4-Aero Kit front bumper & maybe wing + GT3TEK rear bumper
5- Leaning towards FISTER D exhaust but open to suggestions (no $4,000 systems)
6- I may buy my old wheels that were on my 996 off the guy that bought it from me, i really like them + he says he wants a smoother ride.
Sorry for the crappy BlackBerry pics for now! I just got home so this is the car PRE- My mods, in a month or 2 i'll have it all changed

can't wait to see the center council painted
Looks great and so wish I had ceramic brakes. I had full leather on my '08 997S and that's the one thing I miss. I also had PSE which is why I had to get an x-pipe this time. But not enough sound and not the right sound. I should have gotten new secondary mufflers instead. So that's now the next step to the tune of about $2000. Cargraphic of course.
Wheels look good and I'm not a fan of aftermarket wheels.

Nice car! Question, but how does a dealer certify a 2005 to 2013? Doesn't certification just add 2 more years to the factory warranty so for a 2005 would be factory to 2009 the certification brings it to 2011?

A car can be certified more than once. When the owner bought it last year it got certified. I confirmed certification yesterday at scottsdale porsche then of course today at newport porsche just for good measure.

Thx man, I can't believe I ended up finding one again and it all turned out this way! Thank God I'd like to know what # of the 335 (I think that's how many were made) this one is...through Vin?

Fantastic! La Créme de la créme! You did good my friend!
Really love this car and nothing beats a Launch car!
Exhaust: get a fisterD later add some 200 cell cats.
You can contact Eric at bumper plug and he can hook you up with the painted console and the Dension unit for your iPod/Iphone/BT. The factory OEM aero front bumper is amazing, I think you are going to love it...
Congrats again!
