Another great 911 documentary

This is a short (6:20) documentary Timeless. It's not exactly educational but it sums up Porsche culture and community for me.

It's why I fell in love with Porsches...

Enjoy!

If you haven't seen it before, check out National Geographics Ultimate Factories.
You can buy at their website or it's in 5 parts on youtube.
Great video on the building of the 997.
Gives me the warm fuzzies to watch it.

Always bothers me when knowledgeable car guy say "Porschhhh" Tx for the post. I'm going to see if I can get 2 sets of golf clubs in my trunk now.

And he keeps saying "Porsh".

There are quite a few, ok, a lot of people that have purchased new Porsches that have no clue of the history and heritage of the family that bears the name of their car. A few years ago I was driving one of my 356s and was stopped at a light and a brand new 928 pulled up next to me. I looked over and nodded at the driver and he said to me "nice car...what is it?". Kind of awkward to have to tell him it was a Porsche. He looked at me like I was being a smart a$$.

Search for some of the older videos. Great ones on early 911 Rallying in Europe, 356s being assembled at the factory in the 50s, Porsches at LeMans etc. The history of Ferdinand Porsche himself is amazing. Creating the first electric car with the motors in the wheels, the early designs of the VW, being imprisoned after WWII for helping Hitler. Didn't matter that he was FORCED to help.

I always fight with my neighbor on the Porsche/Porsh thing....

He being a military brat living in Germany (then joining) told me that it was "Porsh" and it was translated into english as "Porsche"

Yeah some people are stubborn. It's a name, not a word. My wife and I have met Peter Porsche several times and if the man pronounces his name with two syllables who are we to dispute it!

Seriously tho, I couldn't watch this doofus one minute longer.. If u r gonna make a Porsche documentary, at least do not wear a Mercedes shirt.. and respect the man's name.
