Tinting - Cost?

Hey folks,

Thinking of getting my car tinted. Any recommendations as to the brand and how much it should cost for the entire car (excluding the windshield)?

I'm in Los Angeles and was quoted $500 for the 3M Crystalline Tine, at 50%.

Many thanks in advance!

I think I paid $400 and that was at a tint shop that pretty much owns the high end market here in vegas. I might have gotten a discount because I had a clear bra installed at the same time and I had them do my gf's new lexus the week before.

There's tons of LA poeple here. I'm sure you will get some answers that will better help you out shortly.

Side and rear windows for $200 in Little Rock, and they did a great job. They didn't do the windscreen, but I can't imagine it would have added much to the price.

$175 in Woodland Hills. Shop located on Ventura Blvd. They are at Supercar Sunday every weekend to promote. Did a nice job on my car.

Thanks everyone, for your responses. I'm glad I asked, because I thought that $500 was a great deal - - the tint shop said that it was originally $990, but they were offering a 50% sale. Glad I didn't take it!

I just got an '09 C2S tinted in Downtown San Francisco by a top rated (according to Yelp) installer. $240 for 5 windows (50% back and sides, 20% front). $40 of that was a tip.

$180.00 side and back windows. Might have gone a little too dark.

Go with Spectra PhotoSync if you can find an installer that carries it. Here's our test of it (impressive results):

You can also contact the manufacturer to see who carries this in your area: (prestige-films.com) - the West Coast representative is vtran@prestige-films.com

we tint at the shop and we typically charge $150 for all windows except windshield and $200 for the carbon tint. It doesn't interfere with the alarm, rain sensors etc..

Unique Auto Films in Tarzana did a tremendous job on all my cars. They're a bit on the pricey side but you do get what you pay for, right? The quality and service is untouchable. I highly recommend them.

I'd love to try the 'electric' tint thing, the one that you can turn on and off

can you post some pics? if people are going to tint their windows different percentages, they usually tint the back ones darker than the fronts. usually they keep the fronts lighter to comply with state laws.
