Bosch battery cost?
I chose to buy a decent battery from a large national chain like a Wal Mart.
It came with a 4 year over the counter exchange.
I felt this was better because then if it fails, I can get a replacement anywhere in the country.
Usually specialty batteries mean specialty stores which aren't everywhere nor are they open at all hours.

Sorry for your pain...but after 600+ posts and the fact that batteries are discussed here all the time, surprised you weren't aware of less expensive alternatives - hope you at least got a 10% PCA discount.
I never read a battery post and was not told until an couple of hours ago while the car was in the shop that it needed a battery. If I had known I would have done the research. Had to make a decision on the spot when they called and I guess the screwed up. Not the first nor the last screw up either.
Most car batteries are manufactured by Johnson Controls Inc, including the batteries sold at Walmart, Sears, Autozone, and Advance Auto Parts. They also make Interstate batteries as well as many original equipment batteries. And, they own Optima batteries too.
I used to live in WI and many pals worked there so I know this. The dealer talked to me like they do young girls. He said if you use anything but a Bosch there won't be enough amperage and your alternator will go which cost 1200 to replace
