New member in 2009 C4S launch car club

Hi,

I pulled the trigger and am the newest member in the 2009 C4S launch car club. 30k miles. Picked it up yesterday in LA and enjoyed every mile on the way to the Bay Area

My other car is a 2002 Boxster S, which now feels like a Prius, compared to the C4S. But as they say: "one of your cars should always be a convertible"

Planned mods:
  • Gundo hack
  • Sharkwerks X-pipes
  • rear spacers
  • undecided if to upgrade to multi-function steering wheel or paddle shifter wheel (this will be my daily driver AND track car, so probably paddle shifters)

Porsche Sport Design wheel with paddles is a must. I chose the more expensive route for exhaust mods. But a quiet 997 makes no sense...

Pretty. I was eyeing that car for while. Picked up mine in LA too. Seems like all the good ones are down there.

Congrats! I bet with the rain and all, you really appreciated the 4x-drive.

Did you take the sports-car, scenic route which is Big Sur back to SF?

I looked at the agency power setup but am a little worried about their marketing statement "without a lot of drone"
Does it drone and how bad is it?

Thanks
Chris

Congrats on the purchase Chris !! Love the color, so are you going to keep the S for beach/weekend car then ? Also what size spacers are you going to go with ? We offer a full line of H&R Spacers.

Very cool indeed! We've done a few of those (spot them with the carbon seats). Going to have fun!

Not sure about Agency Power. I went with Cargraphic as it's a German company and the design/build quality is better than anything else I've seen (lifetime warranty too). Zero drone. It's low noise at cruising rpms, but loud when you want it to be. Never excessive.

The best part is the return on investment. I will get back quite a lot of the initial purchase price when I chose to sell it.

With the gundo hack, I'm unsure what owners do to remedy the mod before selling or trading???

Nothing, the new owner can enjoy it and would think this is how the car should sound.

Enjoy your new ride!!!

I would think a Porsche dealer would balk at it on a trade if they wanted to CPO the car. It's a hatchet job almost forcing to correct or have to sell outright to a buyer. Perhaps it would go under the radar in a trade. Perhaps not.

Whaaaaaaat??? you think porsche dealer goes under the car to look at the exhaust and how its piped?

OP you can get the FISTER D sport Exhaust (IF HE IS MAKING THEM FOR 997.2 ALREADY-I'M NOT SURE) its a "Clean" professional gundo hack- you can't even see the welds on it- best mod for less than $300 Contact Darin Fister - fister D motorsports

Go with the Paddle shifters!
My 2011 C4S has the button shifters on both sides, Too many inadvertent shifts while holding the wheel at certain positions.

Love it, reminds me of the C4S I used to have, before a giant brain spasm caused me to sell it. Congratulations!

Yep, I already had a few of them myself and before track season starts I'll order & install the paddle shifter wheel
