Understand that you can't see that the hood is open but how do you miss the message on the dashboard OBC that tells you it is open?

I use to have this problem too. My dealer was able to add a delay, so that you have to hold the button down for a longer period of time before the hood unlatches. It solved the issue for me.

For those with this issue, what year is your car? Model?

Just curious.

I have a 2006 997 cab. I bought it in 2010 and when I took it in for the first service, my advisor offered the software fix.

I will pursue this on my next service. Usually happens in my pocket, in the habit now of checking the lid.

There is now a kit offerred by the dealer which has a lip above the keys which prevents this. Works great - do not know how much $ however, as my dealer did the kit-fix under CPO.

I think there's a setting the dealer can program that requires the button to be pushed for four seconds. This has never happened to me but happens to my friend all the time.
